Red Head Convention - Ireland 2010

08-20-10

Update: .

Joleen Cronin, her brother Denis, and friends have created what is probably the first major redhead festival in Ireland.  The festival is this Saturday, August 21, 2010 starting at 11:00am Irish Time (Western European Summer Time).  It will be held around the family owned Cronin's Pub in Crosshaven, County Cork, Ireland.

The event flyer details the large list of events, many unique to this new festival.  See the for full details.

The festival is a charity event for the Irish Cancer Society.  "It will probably be an annual event," says Joleen.  Among the unique events are some crazy redhead contests including: best former redhead, redhead king and queen, and longest red hair.  A speed dating event "Save the Redheads" for Irish redheads and gingers wanting to hook up will also be held.

Cork's own blend of red lemonade and other ginger treats like gingerbread men will be on sale.  For those not redheads themselves, temporary and permanent dye jobs will be available.

All Irish gingers, especially those in the Cork area should not miss this event! Joleen also points out it's only about a 2 and a half hour drive from Dublin, so be sure to make a day trip for what should prove to be a great annual redhead festival.

Place: Cronin's Pub @ Crosshaven, County Cork, Ireland
