College Life???

So. Im going to college in the fall. In Montana, Helena to be specific. I have NO idea what to expect and im trying not to freak out. I will be the second one in my entire family, (down both sides) to go away to school. I have no idea what to expect. I am a spoiled brat, truley i am, i have never really had to share my room for more then three months when my best friend moved in with me and my family. So im asking you, What should i expect in a Catholic College??? Whats Montana like? Ive never been there.

I kow what you mean, i was number 3 to go away to school. and heres what i wish i knew before i went:
1- no one cares who you were in high school. any reputation tht you have, you can choose to carry it on, or else you can "reinvent" yourself.if you want to be outgoing and meet lots of people, do it! if you want to try out for a sports team, or join a club that is "geeky" do it!
2- you will do things you never thought you would. I don't necessarily mean drugs/alcohol, you could find yourself going to see a concert you never thought you would enjoy, or you could take a class you swore you'd never take
3- you will meet lots of amazing people. People from all over the place- they will all come with unique stories, talents, and experiences.
4- you will stop watching TV (almost completely)
5-dont forget why you are there. I almost did in my first year- yes you are there to have a great time, but also school is important. just because you can sleep through class and no one will get mad at you doesnt mean that you should
6- find an activity that will keep you active- the freshman 15 is very real
7- talk to your professors. if you have a questions, ask! get to know them, it will help you when you're in upper years
8- if you want a job, look on campus- cafes, tour guiding etc, theres lots of opportunity!
9- take lots of pictures! (you dont need to post them all on facebook) but you will want to remember your time in college
10- you will learn to share, and the people you live with will become some of your closest friends.

Wow, congratulations on your decision to go to college!
No need to freak out, you're about to have a great experience, I'm sure. What I would recommend is getting involved on campus in any way you can. Check out career services, service learning and any clubs- there are both academic and more fun based clubs. For example, my school has an equestrian, language, and Frisbee club. Anything that you can do to get more involved is not only going to make your time there more enjoyable but it is going to give you a great support group should you become home sick.
Like, Strawberryfirelds (actually I agree with everything they said) said, talk to your professors from day one! This is going to help you SO much. Even if you don’t have a reason to, make one up or just introduce yourself. Especially with the ones that are teaching classes in your major, this is going to help you a lot later down the line and give you possible mentors.
When I went to college I had no idea of all the opportunities around me and did not take advantage of anything my school had to offer beyond just classes until the very end and I wish I had started sooner.
As far as Montana goes, I think I’ve been there once. I don’t recall it very well as I was pretty young about 4 or 5. But I do know that my mother said when we first arrived and I stepped out of our very tall truck I immediately disappeared in a layer of snow taller than myself. Haha!!
In any case, good luck to you I hope you do well! And if you ever have any questions, feel free to message me anytime or use this blog again.
