Munchkin Talk
Kids can come up with some funny variations on common words when they are very young and haven't quite grasped the dynamics of speech yet.
Today we were decorating the Christmas tree and my daughter called the ornaments, "or-mints" and insisted that they were pronounced that way (!!!).
Also hamburgers started out as "han-ger-bers" and now are "han-ger-burgers", it's slowly evolving into the norm.

It's weird I was thinking of this yesterday because I had part of the Cats musical in my head (goodness knows why, I adore "Phantom of the Opera" and Sir Andrew Lloyd Weber generally, and I love cats, but save for "Memory" - I'm not a big fan of that musical.)
Anyway, the poem that "Cats" is based on by T. S. Elliot, is based on another of his works where the "Jellicle Cats" was a corruption by his goddaughter (I think?) of "dear little cats." :D
