Slices and Slicettes,

 

Well its been a while since i have bloged/ even been on this site. i dont know what has been keeping me so occupied but none the less im here now. as the cold continues to get colder ( not so happy bout that) i seem to keep busy. Haloween is soon so i though id take the time to reflect on past haloween experiencs/ costumes over the years. As a wee one i always had the most random costume idea's, one year i went as a clown and princess the same that you would see in any party store. but then advanced to the sun made with a giant ball and paper mache with holes for my arms and legs, My sister decided that i couldnt be the only one with  a cool costume so she did the same and went as the earth. painted perfectly with all continents. then i went  on to be .. if i can remember a spider, the princess from neverending story ( dont know where i got that idea) and in grade 8 made a giant pizza slice out of cardboard paper paint anad various glues and tapes. i won first prize out of my class for that one ( my goal all along ). In highschool i went on to be " too cool to dress up" i went to a catholic school where we had uniforms and it was dress down day at the end of every month so a couple years i took that opportunity and didnt dress up for "comfort" reasons ( thats what i said atleast). although i do believe i went as a devil one year. In college first year i went as a cheerleader. basically becasue i had no money for a costume so i just wore my cheerleading outfit from highschool, and second year i went as rainbow bright. I always wanted to go as some celebrity or some clever thing but the only redhead famous person i could go as in a group with friends was ginger spice and you can only do that so many times. after college i stoped dressing up until 2 years ago i had a party to go to at the my friends frat house in t.o and a party at a friends the next night so i went toamerican apparel ( i dont knwo how so many ppl wear that stuff on a day to day basis) and cameup with the best costume ever ( or so i thought) mohawked my hair with tonz of product and went as a zebra. by far my fav costume. so this year i am taking my nephews and niece out trick or treating and dont need a costume, but i ask anyone who actually reads these..... WHAT ARE YOU BEING OR DO YOU WISH YOU COULD BE FOR HALOWEEN?????

Hey Slice and Slicettes,

 

even though the weather here in Ontario has been kinda shitty the past few weeks my family and i were still able to make it to the 9th annual winners walk of hope for ovarian cancer on center island this past sunday. this is the seconds year we have done the walk. This yeah we toped the money we raised last year by getting $1300.00. and in my mind thats sucessful.

my sisters and i love the movie Zoolander so every year our team name for the walk changes. from either quotes from the movie to characters. last year we were Magatu, this year we were Blue Steel and it set that next year we are going to be Hansel..he's so  hot right now. Truthfully i think the fun team name makes the time even more enjoyable.

so it ended up being a beautiful day outside to walk and we raised thousands of dollars for an amazing cause.

now you may be thinking why is she going on about some boring walk she went on.... and the reason is this. this fall or christmas, for a birthday or for no occasion at all i urge everyone to donate to a charity,im not saying all the time every dime you own, one dollar is more than none. or volunteer or find another means of helping others. we so often get wraped up in our own buisness and drama we forget how many possitave things we could be doing.

So, in my town you can tell when summer is over...

 

first there are no kids/teeneagers around ever, they have all gone back to school, two you have to wear socks or pants, and last there is no one lounging at the pool...

 

and with this happening as i type i am sad that yet another summer has flown by. (no fair) i will say however that it was one of the best summers weather wise and i did do my fair share of relaxing. i hope everyone had a great summer wherever you spent it.

an update and random facts.

 

the summer is  winding down which means for some back to shcool, others back to work and some it means nothing but cold weather is coming (i would be one of those... damn cold thats what i get for living in canada) but i will have to say it has been a good one, i have done much relaxing at the family pool and much lounging at the beach while camping and have even enjoyed a good 5 blue jays games. i hope all of u have had a great summer as well even if u werejust working the whole time.

 

so after feeling totally exausted from taking care of children all day ( not my own but still children) i came home to have a nice night in to relax, so decided to get fish and chips down the street at my fav place that i eat at far to much, as i walked in looking like total crap ( in all trackers, sweater, flip flops no makeup and my hair all messed i was waiting for my usual order and reading up on my toronto blue jay stats in the paper making sure my player lind ( i call him ranga beard and thus being the only reason i have his jersey, i tried getting a carter one or bell and they dont sell them :() i was reading away when a very hot lad i will call him asked what my wrist tatt meant, my tatt is just two flowers and i was so confused by ythe question ( lack of sleep/ no one asks about that  tatt when i have 7 usually  they are asking about a different one) i was kinda caught off guard and though i got my flower tatt to me represents a fresh start, one flour to remember the past fondly and the second to embrace the future and whatt it holds for me. i just told the guy that it had no meaning and kept reading my baseball statts. so i will have to say it was a nice treat to walk  out with my order a couple min later and have him say bye beautiful to me. i smiled and said bye back. now that u know this random not so important info about my day i would like toput this out in the universe.....

 

thanks to that cute guy for makin me smile and callin me beautiful when i clearly looked like i havnt bathed in like a day or two...

 

and i say to all of u slices out there... be nice and go against the gingers have too much anger for a second and make one person smile  today!!! i know i try to all the time and it makes me smileright back!!!!!!

 

and to end this post i will let u in on some random facts bout my tatts just incase anyone wants to know. all my tatts have meaninng and i think for myself they need to because otherwise i would regret them but i think anyone who expresses themselves deserves cudos wether its a tatt, pearcing, funky hair style, hair colour,  clothing, makeup, work, art, philosophy, hopes and dreams....

 

i have clockwise from left... a music not with three flags ( i am the third of four girls in my family and we are all musical both singing writing music aswell as we play a combine of 7 instruments i play guitar)

my two flowers representing a fresh start one flower for the past and one for the future, the family Motto from our coat of armjs, with a swirly design( i drew out , 5 hours on the sofa my tatto artist said he wouold refuse if i asked for another one like it) "Buaida nos bas" meaning victory or death, A star one of a set of three, my two best girlfriends have the other two on their left hip bone like mine, the symbol meaning strength i live by that one word wether its working at the fire department to having the strrengh to pull through what might be the most impossible situatuion, with angel wings underneith the symbol, a lot of ppl think they are lopsided but my grandfather gave me a porcelin angel that is holding a fire helmet and its named the angel of courage it is somhting that if there were a fire in my apt i think thats the one thing i would make sure to take, the evening he gave it to me we were having a family dinner all the aunts and uncles right after we ate he had a heart attack and passed away, this tatt reminds me of him and all that was good in him every day. and the newest tatt, a saying under my left breast " what makes us different makes us beautiful" and dont ever for get it!!!

Sup Slivers...

 

I dont know about any of you guys but here in Ontario it has been quite warm this summer. I love the warm weather and all but my gingerness cant do extreme heat like its been out. although i have somehow managed to get a sweet ass tan this summer ( by sweet ass im mean more freckles and a lil darker so im the same colour as everyone else not and not pasty white) all i can say is thank god i have a pool to swim in! i hope all of your asummers are going well wherever you are and if ur in the heat your keepin hydrated. I have been cleaning my place like a maniac because aparently my dog Milo likes to shed more than any other dog invented.

other than that the summer is winding down and im not so happy about that... nothing to look forward to except christmas... anyone have any ideas on things to keep me busy????

i am going to have to hybernate at the gym again this winter.

also i have read all my summer books i got and need something to read now any sugestions on that??????

Hey All..

Figured id give this whole blog thing a chance. plus gives me a reason to check out my fellow gingers more.

 

so a slice of my friday was goin to the Jays Game with some relitaves i havnt seen in 5 years. it was awesome, the won ( which rarely happens lol) adn i get a free slice of pizza on monday becauase they got 7 outs in a row.... Hizah to that:) MMMMmmm  pizza.

and noticed while at the game that my family is exploding with gingers. for years it was Just me and my little sister. i swear we were the only 2 in out wee town.but now theres GINGERS EVERYWHERE esp. my fam. my cousin got married to a ginger and they have 4 lil blonde rugrats. and my older sis has 2 year old twin ginger boys that are adorable. and my eldest sis had a baby and her hair turned strawberry blonde in the process. she was close before but now shes a full blown.  i can oly hope there is more and more where that came from :)

other than that this weekend is pretty melo with lots of the fam away for the weekend or going away for the week. ah the joys of the summer.
