Redhead World has become a proud sponsor of the 2010 Dublin Irish Festival, the second biggest Irish festival in the world. We're working with the festival council to produce the world's largest redhead gathering in North America amid the award-winning Celtic entertainment the festival has to offer.

 

We know we have a great chance at being the world record largest redhead gathering because of the size of the Dublin Irish Festival. Its 27 acre park, with 7 main stages, attracted over 100,000 admissions in 2009. Given that there should be close to 33,000 people attending on Sunday, coupled with a higher than normal 2%-6% redhead ratio, there should be over 2,500 redheads already in attendance. Along with the hundreds of North American redheads who can't make it to Roodharigendag and have been asking for a redhead gathering for years, we know this will be a huge success.

Central Location to U.S. and Canada

Dublin, Ohio, U.S.A. is a great central location. It is 500 miles / 800 km (about a day's drive) from 50% of the U.S. population and 35% of the Canadian population. Redhead World members from as far away as Oklahoma and California are already planning to attend too!

Reddest Hair Contest

The Dublin Irish Festival has held Irish contests for years. Among them are contests for people with the most freckles, greenest eyes, and reddest hair. There are three age divisions for each: 8 and under, 9-17, and 18 and over - even adults join the fun. The top picks by the judges receive some sort of prize or trophy.

Redhead World Information Tent

Redhead World will have an information tent on the main street of the festival all weekend long. We'll be spreading the word of our site in our goal to truly unite the redheads. Visitors can stop by to meet Andy (CelticCurls) and other Redhead World volunteers. You might get to meet other redheads and Redhead World members in the days leading up to the big redhead gathering. We'll also be giving away freebies and having a sign-up for a drawing.

Redhead Documentarian to Film Proceedings

A redhead documentarian doing a documentary on redheads will be coming all the way from California. Her team will be filming the redhead events and interviewing Andy, documenting what it means to be a redhead.
